Accountant – Project Finance & Cost Control

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Dubai team at Malmo. The role will focus on managing project budgets, tracking costs, and delivering accurate financial reporting for our fit‑out and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project budgets, monitoring actual costs against forecasts.
• Track expenses for materials, subcontractors and labour, highlighting variances and recommending cost‑saving measures.
• Analyse project profitability and produce margin and profit reports.
• Price variations, change orders and additional works accurately.
• Control operational expenses with proper cost allocation.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Reconcile bank statements, petty cash and company credit‑card transactions.
• Maintain organized financial records and support improvements to financial systems and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in fit‑out, construction or contracting.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and financial reporting.
• High accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with project managers and auditors.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for daily accounting operations, reporting and reconciliations.
