Accounting Lead Middle East

About the role

The Accounting Lead will manage the accounting function for Otis Middle East entities, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and delivering accurate financial reporting. Reporting to finance leadership, the role combines oversight of month‑end close, ledger integrity, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and prepare financial statements.
• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions and perform variance analysis against budget/forecast.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensure data integrity and review reconciliations for balance‑sheet and intercompany accounts.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS/GAAP and internal controls, supporting internal and external audits.
• Mentor and develop the Record‑to‑Report (R2R) team, allocate work and monitor performance against SLAs.
• Identify automation opportunities, drive standardisation and participate in ERP implementation or enhancements.
• Collaborate with FP&A, AP, AR, Tax and business units, providing financial insights for decision‑making.
• Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations and support group consolidation activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial accounting, with at least 5 years in managerial roles.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent).
• Professional certification such as CMA preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Proficiency in financial consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Ability to perform variance analysis and manage month‑end close.
