Advanced Manufacturing Engineer I

About the role

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer I will join Powertech’s propulsion centre of excellence, supporting the development and industrialisation of turbofan, micro‑jet and piston engine programmes. This hands‑on technical position focuses on machining, fabrication and NPI activities to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate and improve machining and fabrication processes for rotating and structural engine components, including turning, milling, multi‑axis machining, grinding, broaching, airfoil machining and welding.
• Create and maintain manufacturing routings, work instructions and process documentation.
• Support New Product Introduction from prototype build through production ramp‑up, troubleshooting issues related to quality, cost and delivery.
• Participate in concurrent engineering with design teams, providing manufacturability feedback, tolerance analysis and material trade studies.
• Interact with external suppliers for process reviews, part qualification and issue resolution, and provide shop‑floor support during trials and production builds.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in aerospace or propulsion manufacturing.
• Hands‑on expertise with machining or fabrication of engine components.
• Experience supporting NPI, prototype builds or production environments.
• Detail‑oriented problem‑solver with strong analytical skills.

Required skills

• CAD/CAM systems proficiency.
• CNC programming, tool‑path development and manufacturability assessment.
• Machining simulation tools.
