Ambulance Estimation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Ambulance Estimation Engineer to develop accurate and commercially competitive cost proposals for ambulance conversions, specialist medical interiors and related emergency equipment. The role will collaborate with design, procurement, production, sales and project teams to ensure estimates meet technical and commercial requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quotations, bills of materials and tender submissions for ambulance conversions and specialist emergency vehicles.
• Analyse customer briefs, technical specifications, drawings and scope‑of‑work documents to identify project requirements.
• Calculate material, labour, subcontractor, tooling, logistics and installation costs for vehicle body modifications, electrical and medical systems.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring technical compliance and commercial terms.
• Maintain estimating databases, pricing records and historical cost data.
• Support sales and business development with technical clarification, value engineering and customer presentations.
• Review scope changes and prepare revised estimates, variation quotations and impact assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in cost estimation, project engineering or vehicle conversion, preferably within ambulance or specialist emergency vehicle projects.
• Strong understanding of ambulance design, medical interiors and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and bills of materials.
