Anchor Foreman

About the role

The Anchor Foreman supports the Barge Foreman in all anchor‑related activities during offshore barge operations. This position ensures safe and efficient handling of anchors, mooring systems and related equipment while complying with company HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Barge Foreman in setting up the barge at work locations.
• Prepare anchors, pennant wires and various buoys during barge mobilization.
• Inspect the barge mooring system (anchor winches, anchor wires) and report findings.
• Plot anchor positions according to approved patterns or, when absent, coordinate with senior colleagues to develop a plan.
• Monitor barge positioning during anchor repositioning with Anchor Handling Tugs (AHTS) to ensure correct placement throughout lay operations.
• Report accidents, incidents and near‑misses for investigation.
• Oversee tower operations, anchor handling and barge movement on anchors.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to anchor handling per vessel procedures.
• Conduct frequent checks of anchors, buoys and pennant wires and verify positioning once operational.
• Provide deck assistance to the Barge Foreman when anchor duties are minimal.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, integrity code, and HSE standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of offshore experience, with proven offshore construction background.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Familiarity with standard offshore anchoring and mooring practices.

Required skills

• Anchor handling and mooring system inspection.
• Anchor position plotting and planning.
• Operation of Anchor Handling Tugs (AHTS) for barge repositioning.
• Documentation and record‑keeping of anchor handling procedures.
