Android Engineer – 12‑Month Contract (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join a high‑traffic consumer‑facing mobile team. The role is a 12‑month contract, fully remote, and focuses on delivering polished, performant experiences to millions of users across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship new features for a large‑scale Android app, including search, discovery and engagement flows.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers and QA to translate requirements into well‑architected solutions.
• Write clean Kotlin code and build modern UIs using Jetpack Compose.
• Own feature lifecycle from design through implementation, testing, release and monitoring.
• Contribute to app architecture, shared components, state management and navigation patterns.
• Write and maintain unit and UI tests, review pull requests and enforce engineering best practices.
• Investigate and resolve crashes, ANRs and performance issues using Android tooling.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, build performance and release processes.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin with idiomatic use of language features.
• Solid experience with Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming.
• Production experience building UIs with Jetpack Compose.
• Deep understanding of Android core concepts, lifecycle, background work and Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, Room, WorkManager, DataStore).
• Experience writing unit and UI tests (JUnit, MockK/Mockito, Compose UI testing, Espresso).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Gradle (Kotlin DSL, version catalogs) and Git workflows.
