Applications Engineer – Quick Opening Closures

About the role

The Applications Engineer will support the full lifecycle of the Quick Opening Closures (QOC) product line, providing technical solutions, product recommendations and accurate quotations. Working closely with sales, engineering, operations and customers, the role ensures that proposals meet project and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer inquiries and technical specifications for QOC products.
• Prepare high‑quality techno‑commercial proposals using internal tools.
• Perform QOC ID and wall‑thickness calculations in line with ASME and other relevant codes.
• Manage proposals through the bid cycle, maintaining quote registers and CRM tracking.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to deliver compliant quotations on time.
• Maintain strong relationships with sales, engineering, operations and other stakeholders.
• Interpret contractual requirements to ensure alignment with customer specifications.
• Support order execution with proper documentation and clear technical communication.
• Identify and mitigate risks during proposal and order stages.
• Travel to customer sites, vendor locations and manufacturing facilities as required.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in application engineering, technical proposals or sales support.
• Strong technical understanding of pressure‑containing equipment, especially Quick Opening Closures, pressure vessels or pipeline equipment.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.4, B31.8 and relevant ASTM standards.
• Experience preparing technical proposals and interacting with customers.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and datasheets.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CRM systems.
