Arabic Teacher A – Cycle 1 (British Curriculum)

About the role

International Community Schools (ICS) Al Danah in Abu Dhabi is looking for an enthusiastic Arabic Teacher A to join the Cycle 1 team (Years 1‑3/4). The teacher will deliver high‑quality Arabic language instruction that aligns with the National Curriculum for England and meets ADEK standards, fostering a strong linguistic foundation for young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Arabic lessons for Cycle 1 students in line with the British curriculum.
• Integrate educational technology such as interactive whiteboards, learning platforms and apps to enhance language acquisition.
• Maintain effective classroom management and create an inclusive, stimulating learning environment.
• Track student progress, produce assessment reports and communicate outcomes to parents and senior staff.
• Collaborate with the Head of Arabic Department and other faculty to ensure curriculum coherence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Education or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., QTS) is strongly preferred.
• Possession of an ADEK Teacher Licence or eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of full‑time Arabic teaching experience at primary level in a British‑curriculum school.
• Native‑level spoken and written Arabic and strong English proficiency.

• Age‑appropriate pedagogical approaches for teaching Arabic to young learners.
• Proficiency with educational technology (interactive whiteboards, learning platforms, language‑learning apps).
• Strong assessment, tracking and reporting capabilities.
