Assistant Chief Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Department Head in overseeing the engineering operations of the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa. This full‑time position ensures the building, grounds, and equipment are maintained to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing budget, capital expenditures, and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Supervise day‑to‑day engineering activities and coordinate work with staff and contractors.
• Provide 24/7 emergency response services and act as the point of contact for guest repair requests.
• Maintain inventory, order parts, and keep accurate purchase logs.
• Conduct life‑safety checks, fire‑pump and generator run tests, and inspect fire sprinkler and alarm systems.
• Support the development of disaster response protocols and energy‑conservation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in hotel or facilities engineering.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage schedules and ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests, employees and external contractors.
