Assistant Chief Steward

About the role

The Assistant Chief Steward supports the steward team at Aloft Abu Dhabi, ensuring efficient clean‑up, banquet support, and smooth kitchen operations. This full‑time position works on‑site at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and assist stewards to improve clean‑up efficiency.
• Monitor water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning, documenting compliance.
• Assist with banquet plate‑ups and support buffet service by transporting stock.
• Provide cooks and kitchen staff with required items and return cleaned equipment to proper locations.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching staff.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, reporting incidents promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of related food‑and‑beverage or stewarding experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
