Assistant HVAC Technician – Facility Maintenance

About the role

VIVO Defence Services is seeking an Assistant HVAC Technician to join its Facility Maintenance team at Dubai Airports. You will perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on a variety of mechanical and HVAC equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment.
• Interpret and work from HVAC system drawings, schematics and layout diagrams.
• Set up and use test equipment such as manifold gauges, multimeters, clamp meters, temperature/humidity meters, vacuum gauges and refrigeration leak detectors.
• Apply local and international air‑conditioning and refrigeration standards and regulations.
• Perform electrical and mechanical isolations and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures safely.
• Execute any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or duty engineer.

Required profile

• Industrial Training Institute Diploma (2‑year) in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Maintenance or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in facility management or a similar environment.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, spreadsheets and presentations using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC system drawings and schematics.
• Hands‑on experience with manifold gauges, digital multimeters, clamp meters, temperature/humidity meters, vacuum gauges and refrigeration leak detectors.
• Understanding of local and international AC and refrigeration standards.
• Competence in electrical & mechanical isolation and LOTO procedures.
• Experience with preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on air handling units, fan coil units, exhaust, fresh‑air and extraction systems.
