Assistant Manager – Fire Protection Design & Estimation

About the role

NAFFCO is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead fire‑protection design and estimation activities across multiple high‑rise, industrial and infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will ensure technical excellence, commercial competitiveness and full compliance with local and international fire‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fire‑protection engineering operations, approve hydraulic calculations and fire‑pump designs.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA, FM Global and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
• Drive constructability, system optimisation and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Lead the estimation team: develop BOQs/MTOs, validate pricing, formulate bid strategies and manage supplier negotiations.
• Conduct commercial risk reviews, evaluate tenders and optimise post‑award engineering costs.
• Manage and mentor engineering and estimation staff, establish QA/QC workflows and monitor KPI performance.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors and authorities to secure approvals and present technical/commercial reviews to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire‑Protection Engineering.
• 10‑15+ years of fire‑protection engineering and estimation experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing multiple projects.
• Proven track record in tender management, cost control and value engineering.

Required skills

• NFPA, FM Global and UAE Civil Defence standards.
• Hydraulic calculations and fire‑pump design.
• BIM/Revit coordination.
• Procore estimation tools.
• Cost optimisation and commercial risk assessment.
• Tender strategy and bid management.
