Assistant Operations Manager – Dubai

About the role

Our client is seeking a proactive, results‑oriented, and highly organized Assistant Operations Manager to support the Operations Manager in overseeing day‑to‑day operational activities. The position provides exposure to operational leadership within a dynamic industrial and supply‑chain environment in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in manpower planning, workforce allocation, shift scheduling and attendance tracking.
• Monitor workforce productivity, operational efficiency and prepare regular performance reports and dashboards.
• Coordinate activities across warehouse, production, logistics, procurement and commercial teams.
• Support the development and implementation of operational procedures, Lean and Kaizen initiatives.
• Track progress against production, inventory and dispatch plans and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate operational records for audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Participate in automation, digitalisation and ERP‑related projects.
• Contribute to cost‑optimization and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Production Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in operations, warehouse management, logistics, manufacturing or supply‑chain functions, preferably in industrial, steel, metals or building‑materials sectors.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel and data‑analysis capabilities.
• KPI monitoring, dashboard preparation and performance‑tracking.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Resource planning and capacity management.
• Workforce management and scheduling.
• Knowledge of process‑improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen).
