Assistant Resident Engineer – Bridge, Tunnel & Infrastructure

About the role

Join AECOM’s Abu Dhabi team as an Assistant Resident Engineer, supporting the Resident Engineer in delivering bridge, tunnel, road and utility projects. You will play a key part in supervising on‑site construction activities and ensuring they meet design, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily site construction work.
• Supervise bridge, tunnel, road, utility and related infrastructure works.
• Verify that construction follows approved drawings, specifications, method statements and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, report delays, technical issues and non‑compliance.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, material submittals and inspection requests.
• Ensure implementation of QA/QC and HSE procedures.
• Participate in site inspections, progress meetings, testing and handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience on bridge, tunnel and infrastructure projects.
• Experience in site supervision and contractor coordination.
• Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, QA/QC procedures and construction practices.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
