Assistant Resident Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support infrastructure, road and landscaping projects in Abu Dhabi. The role assists the Resident Engineer in managing day‑to‑day field activities and ensuring project deliverables meet quality, safety and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field engineering tasks, including constructability reviews and observation of work in progress.
• Provide first‑level quality assurance to verify that installations conform to plans, specifications and industry standards.
• Assist construction personnel with technical details and resolve engineering problems within the assigned discipline.
• Review and interpret design drawings and specifications to confirm correct revision level and technical execution.
• Maintain liaison with design engineering staff and monitor discipline‑specific construction schedules.
• Supply schedule and progress data to the Resident Engineer and support progress appraisal.
• Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timely support of construction activities.
• Ensure tests and inspections are performed, witnessed and documented according to approved procedures.
• Collaborate with construction management to identify and mitigate hazards affecting safety, health or the environment.
• Maintain daily logs, technical catalogs and supplier data for final project turnover.
• Review contractor submissions and supervise site inspection staff.

Required profile

• Experience performing well‑defined field engineering assignments on infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret design drawings, specifications and industry standards.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes and construction progress monitoring.
• Strong coordination skills with design engineers, contractors and construction teams.
