Assistant Resident Engineer – Mechanical Substation (132kV+)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to support the supervision of mechanical works on high‑voltage substation projects (132 kV and above) in the UAE. The role involves ensuring construction activities meet project specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising mechanical works for 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and higher voltage substations.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts and quality standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections, prepare inspection reports and verify contractor resources, manpower, equipment and methodologies.
• Track construction progress against the approved schedule.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, protection, SCADA and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering and construction supervision.
• At least 5 years of experience on 132 kV or higher voltage substation projects.
• Experience with consultancy or site‑supervision organisations is preferred.
• UAE/GCC utility project experience highly desirable.
• Previous involvement in testing and commissioning of substations is an advantage.
