Assistant Store Manager – Retail – Toys "R" Us

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering sales growth, profitability and an excellent customer experience at Toys “R” Us Yas Mall. The role combines operational oversight, team development and hands‑on floor presence.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and profitability by meeting targets for revenue, payroll, shrink and conversion, and implementing strategies to maximise store performance.
• Ensure operational effectiveness through loss‑prevention measures, inventory control, stock movements, returns, exchanges and store maintenance.
• Recruit, train, coach and retain associates, conduct weekly staff meetings and daily briefings, and develop succession plans.
• Maintain high customer service standards, lead by example on the selling floor, and uphold visual merchandising, promotions and store cleanliness.

Required profile

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1‑2 years experience as an Assistant Store Manager with a proven record of driving sales and profit.
• Demonstrated ability to train and develop a team.
• Strong command of business English (written and verbal).
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel and SAP, and solid report‑analysis skills.
• Good numeracy and literacy.
