Assistant System Controller – Energy Kuwait Pool (UAE)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant System Controller to support the generation of electricity and steam at our Jebel Ali site, supplying power to the smelter complex and third‑party customers. The role is based in Dubai and works closely with the Control Room Engineer and System Controllers to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the plant according to instructions, ensuring safe and efficient power generation and distribution.
• Monitor gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines and related systems to maximise steam production.
• Collect and verify operational data for performance monitoring and accurate invoicing.
• Perform routine efficiency and electrical fault calculations for higher‑level approval.
• Initiate start‑up and shut‑down procedures as directed by the Control Room Engineer.
• Continuously monitor gas, steam, compressed air and fuel systems, reporting any alarms.
• Communicate abnormalities to field operators and supervisors for corrective action.
• Raise work and store requests and ensure environmental compliance.
• Participate in the suggestion scheme to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the power or manufacturing industry.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Visual Basic programming.
