Barge Superintendent

About the role

The Barge Superintendent is responsible for the overall administration, operation, and safety of an offshore barge. This role ensures that personnel, equipment, and supplies are managed efficiently to support continuous barge activities.

Key responsibilities

• General administration and supervision of all barge personnel and equipment.
• Coordinate with the base for barge administration, progress reporting, and future requirements.
• Ensure proper fuel and water supply to the barge and supporting vessels.
• Oversee periodic maintenance, repairs, and spare‑part coordination for barge equipment.
• Control internal and external maintenance, including painting, cleaning, and housekeeping.
• Propose and implement barge modifications to improve operations and productivity.
• Supervise warehousing of stores, optimizing space and material storage.
• Ensure adequate catering services for barge crew.
• Resolve personnel issues that cannot be settled by junior staff.
• Schedule leave breaks to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Promote safety awareness and enforce installation safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good command of English.
• All mandatory offshore safety training certifications.
• 15–18 years of proven offshore barge experience, including structural and pipe‑laying work.
