BIM/CAD Technician (MEP)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a BIM/CAD Technician (MEP) to develop MEP design and drafting assignments in Dubai, working closely with the BIM Lead and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with BIM Lead, Design Leads and Engineers to produce engineering drawings (arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, isometrics, component details) from sketches and design information.
• Ensure compliance with project policies, standards and QA/QC processes.
• Manage BIM activities from project start‑up to completion, including model development and coordination.
• Review drawings for readability, presentation and adherence to standards.
• Create parametric and non‑parametric families and apply LOD requirements.
• Perform clash detection in Navisworks and generate clash reports.
• Extract schedules and quantities from the model.
• Support coordination with other disciplines and perform other related tasks as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of GCC experience in BIM/CAD drafting for MEP projects such as pump stations, gas networks, HVAC, and mechanical aspects of metro stations/substations/MCC rooms.
• Experience with Civil 3D, Revit and MicroStation.
• Familiarity with ProjectWise, ISO 19650 and ACC Autodesk.
