Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead the identification, evaluation and execution of new business opportunities across gas and water desalination assets in the UAE. Reporting to the Head of Business Development MENA, the role bridges market prospecting, partnership management and project delivery, ensuring alignment with ENGIE’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, from prospecting to final commitment.
• Conduct financial viability and risk assessments, preparing materials for investment committee reviews.
• Lead cross‑functional teams—including legal, engineering, commercial and operations—to advance projects from inception to operation.
• Manage EPC contract negotiations, project financing facilitation and market analysis.
• Perform post‑project evaluations and support divestments, IPOs, sell‑downs and asset rotation plans.
• Prepare, monitor and approve project budgets and expenses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development within the energy, gas or water desalination sector.
• Strong understanding of project finance, risk allocation and EPC contracting.
• Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills for senior‑level decision making.
