CAD Operator

About the role

Georg Fischer is seeking a CAD Operator to transform free‑hand sketches, diagrams and rough data into precise AutoCAD drawings. The role also supports the Head of Unit with coordination tasks such as inventory control, documentation, data entry and record maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for specialized and regular fittings using CAD tools.
• Create BOMs, routing, and handle ERP transactions for inter‑organization transfers and delivery notes.
• Coordinate with planning, fabrication timelines and delivery commitments, providing backup support on floor activities.
• Prepare project documentation and follow up on Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) activities with the QC team.
• Control raw material and consumable inventory, ensuring minimal stock variance.
• Maintain electronic and hard‑copy project documents for accurate tracking and future reference.
• Generate internal and external project progress reports and ensure timely distribution.
• Produce reports, maintain audit records, and implement continuous efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an Industrial Trade Certification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a production environment.
• Experience in the pipes & fittings industry is a strong advantage.
• Project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
