Calibration Specialist

About the role

The Calibration Specialist will work in EDGE's Calibration Laboratory in Abu Dhabi, ensuring that test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) meet strict metrological standards. You will support technicians, maintain reference standards, and guarantee the accuracy of calibration reports.

Key responsibilities

• Perform calibrations of TMDE equipment and validate compliance with SI traceability.
• Assist technicians with minor repairs and calibration support for customer test equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance and intermediate checks on Al Taif reference standards.
• Verify calibration report data against ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and accreditation requirements.
• Develop and validate uncertainty measurement computations using ISO‑GUM methodology.
• Maintain laboratory documentation, inventories, and technical records.
• Participate in inter‑ and intra‑laboratory comparisons and quality checks.
• Support corrective and preventive actions following internal and external audits.
• Contribute to risk management by identifying and reporting calibration‑related risks.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required); Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in calibration activities.
• Proven ability to perform uncertainty measurement computations.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
