CFD Engineer – Fire & Life Safety

About the role

We are looking for a CFD Engineer specialized in fire and life safety to develop and analyse smoke control systems for complex building projects. The role combines advanced computational fluid dynamics simulations with fire safety design to ensure safe egress and compliance with international and local codes.

Key responsibilities

• Design smoke control and ventilation systems in line with NFPA 92, IBC and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Perform CFD simulations using FDS, PyroSim and related tools to assess smoke movement, tenability and egress conditions.
• Develop evacuation models and conduct calculations to evaluate occupant safety.
• Prepare technical reports, system calculations and documentation for authority submissions.
• Estimate costs for ducts, control systems and accessories based on project requirements.
• Review architectural and fire‑protection drawings to verify design accuracy and code compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate smoke‑management strategies.
• Support client meetings, presentations and authority approvals using simulation results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of experience in CFD analysis and fire safety engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC and UAE Fire Code.
• Experience in smoke control design and evacuation modelling.
• Excellent analytical, report writing and communication abilities.
