Charge Nurse - Tower B4 - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)

About the role

The Charge Nurse for Tower B4 in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) oversees daily operations and ensures smooth patient flow within the unit. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the role combines clinical expertise with administrative coordination to maintain high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules, assignments and patient care activities for the CICU staff.
• Monitor staffing levels and skill mix to match patient acuity and ensure a safe environment.
• Provide supervision, coaching and performance feedback to nursing and support staff.
• Manage utilization of human resources, consumables and equipment efficiently.
• Administer medications and collaborate with pharmacy to meet unit medication needs.
• Lead clinical handovers, attend patient care rounds and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Facilitate referrals, discharge planning and interdisciplinary communication.
• Act as the clinical resource person, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and organizational values.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in cardiac intensive care.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and manage unit operations.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, patient assessment, planning and evaluation.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families and other health professionals.
