Chargeback Officer

About the role

RAKBANK is looking for a Chargeback Officer to manage end‑to‑end chargeback operations across issuing and acquiring. You will ensure disputes, reporting, fee recovery and fund settlements are processed efficiently, securely and in line with bank policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle the full chargeback lifecycle, including copy requests, disputes, fraud reporting, pre‑arbitration and compliance with Visa/Mastercard regulations.
• Monitor incoming chargebacks, post debits to merchant accounts and obtain required approvals.
• Conduct monthly monitoring of excessive chargebacks, flag risks and ensure scheme compliance.
• Process temporary credits in the card system according to internal controls.
• Submit chargeback and compliance documentation to card schemes/member banks within stipulated timelines.
• Supervise chargeback processing staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures and service standards.
• Generate and analyse chargeback, copy request and fraud reports from Visa/Mastercard systems.
• Reconcile chargeback suspense accounts, follow up on outstanding entries and maintain strong documentation.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in chargeback operations within card issuing or acquiring.
• Thorough understanding of Visa International and MasterCard International operating regulations, especially UAE switch rules.
