Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient day‑to‑day operations. This position works closely with senior management and internal stakeholders to support strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and weekly cash‑flow statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Participate in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting with internal stakeholders.
• Manage payroll processing and monthly closing activities.
• Monitor inventory levels, handle stock depreciation, and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
• Review, control, and validate tax declarations according to local regulations.
• Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure optimal terms.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, providing required documentation.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and support system optimization initiatives.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, conducting performance reviews and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting leadership role.
