Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead all accounting functions for a hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the integrity of financial data. This senior position plays a pivotal role in supporting the hotel's financial health and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in line with accounting standards and company policies.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, including AP, AR, and general ledger.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and data.
• Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and cash‑flow management, optimizing liquidity for operational needs.
• Analyze financial data, provide insights, and monitor performance against budgetary targets.
• Lead cost‑control initiatives while maintaining service and quality standards.
• Participate in procurement, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
• Stay updated on accounting technology trends and recommend system improvements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience overseeing full‑cycle accounting in a hospitality or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, audit processes, and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
