Chief Officer

About the role

The Chief Officer will be responsible for overseeing deck operations on board NMDC Energy PJSC’s vessels. This senior deck position ensures safe and efficient loading, ballast management, navigation and crew supervision during sea passages and project operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise loading and off‑loading of the vessel together with related ballast operations.
• Stand navigational watch as the officer in charge, ensuring safe passage.
• Maintain the medical log and conduct inventory checks.
• Oversee catering staff and ensure crew welfare.
• Direct deck anchor handling and towing operations.
• Act as the vessel’s safety officer, responsible for safety equipment.
• Plan and supervise work of the deck crew throughout sea passages and project tasks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Officer of Watch Unlimited Master certificate (II/2).
• Minimum three years experience as a First Officer on anchor‑handling tugs.
• Good English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of safe practices for anchor handling and towing operations.
