Civil Engineer – Buildings

About the role

Stantec is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer specialized in building projects to oversee civil works, ensure compliance with contract documents, and coordinate with contractors and consultants in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor civil works for conformance with contract documents and procedures manual.
• Review, approve, and process all civil technical submittals.
• Answer RFIs related to civil works and coordinate civil activities.
• Review contractor's structural change‑order proposals and prepare recommendations for the Infrastructure Project Manager.
• Liaise with sub‑consultants and review contractors' claims, preparing recommendations for claims.
• Manage civil inspectors, call for testing, and analyze laboratory and testing reports.
• Assist with inspection of completed works, monitor startup, testing, commissioning, and handover of civil works.
• Sign off on completed structural works with proper documentation and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction, with SOE & DMT registration.
• Preferably experience working in the UAE.
