About the role

The Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive psychosocial support to patients, families and caregivers in a medical setting. The role involves conducting assessments, planning individualized care strategies and advocating for patient wishes to improve quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct person‑centered psychosocial assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage workload allocation, prioritize caseloads and supervise junior staff to ensure compliance with policies.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, including electronic data entry and report writing, in line with JCI standards.
• Advocate for patients and families, ensuring their expressed wishes guide long‑term care planning.
• Promote awareness of social work practice, anti‑discriminatory principles and cultural sensitivity among colleagues.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with professional codes and legislation.
• Liaise with external agencies, government bodies and charities to coordinate comprehensive support services.

Required profile

• Previous experience providing direct patient care in a medical or healthcare environment.
• Ability to manage high‑stress, emotionally demanding situations while maintaining concentration.
• Strong understanding of ethical standards, patient rights and multicultural values.
• Experience supervising or guiding junior staff is desirable.
