Commis 2 – Pastry Production

About the role

The Commis 2 supports pastry production at W Hotels by preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and maintaining food quality in a fast‑paced hospitality environment. You will work closely with the pastry team to ensure dishes meet the brand’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, including chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing according to recipes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot pastry items, testing for proper doneness and presentation.
• Monitor food quality, temperature of appliances and food, and follow food preparation checklists.
• Set up and break down work stations, maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment.
• Serve food in proper portions, ensure correct labeling and storage, and adhere to safety and sanitation policies.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to the manager and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related pastry or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Commitment to follow company policies, safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance.
