Commis I

About the role

We are looking for a Commis I to join the culinary team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa in Abu Dhabi. The role supports food preparation and service across our outlets, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of food, setting up mise‑en‑place for all outlets as required.
• Follow Avani food preparation and presentation guidelines to deliver consistent culinary quality.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Apply food safety practices, including proper storage, dating, rotation and protection of all food items.
• Support hotel property and facilities care, and participate in departmental training.
• Ensure compliance with departmental checklists, cleaning schedules, and health & safety rules.
• Assist with events, banquets and other functions as needed.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for hospitality and a willingness to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to follow detailed food preparation and safety procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
