About the role
We are seeking a Commis I to join the kitchen team at Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel, part of the Colbert Collection. The role supports the Chef de Partie in daily food preparation and ensures high standards of hygiene and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie and follow instructions.
- Gather and accurately measure all meal ingredients.
- Wash, peel and chop vegetables and fruits.
- Cut and season various meats.
- Prepare basic dishes such as salads and sauces.
- Track inventory supplies and stock food items properly in refrigerators and freezers.
- Maintain proper hygiene standards and keep the workstation clean.
- Plate meal items and dispose of spoiled or expired products.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a large luxury hotel (minimum 500 keys) is required.
- Pre‑opening experience is an advantage.
Required skills
- Proven work experience as a Commis.
- Active listening and effective communication.
- Flexibility to work in shifts.
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
