Commis II – Breakfast & Brunch Restaurant

About the role

The Commis II supports the Breakfast and Brunch operations at a luxury hotel restaurant, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix foods according to recipes.
• Cook breakfast and brunch items using ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers while monitoring doneness and temperature.
• Prepare and plate cold foods and ensure presentation standards are met.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, kitchen area, tools and equipment throughout the shift.
• Check appliance and food temperatures to guarantee safety and quality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions for the duration of a shift.
• Commitment to follow safety, hygiene and company policies.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning and measuring.
• Temperature monitoring and food safety practices.
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment and surfaces.
