Commis II – Myami & Bal Harbour

About the role

The Commis II supports the Myami and Bal Harbour outlets by preparing and cooking food to Marriott’s quality and presentation standards. This position works in a fast‑paced kitchen environment, ensuring safety, sanitation and consistent service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, weigh, measure and mix ingredients; wash and peel fresh produce.
• Cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards; prepare cold dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers; test foods for doneness and monitor quality.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain a clean, disinfected kitchen area.
• Check and record temperatures of appliances and food; follow all safety, security and sanitation policies.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lb and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑preparation experience.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Operation of kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food safety, sanitation and temperature monitoring.
