Compliance Manager – Assurance Unit (UAE Nationals Only)

About the role

The Compliance Manager will lead activities within the Compliance Assurance Unit, ensuring delivery of the approved assurance plan and high‑quality, risk‑based reviews across business and compliance areas. This position supports the development of an independent Quality Assurance framework for compliance across UAE and international locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee assigned activities within the Compliance Assurance Unit, delivering the assurance plan and risk‑based reviews.
• Support development and enhancement of an independent Quality Assurance/Compliance Assurance framework.
• Provide independent assurance to senior management on the design and operating effectiveness of the Compliance Programme and controls.
• Collaborate with compliance verticals and business stakeholders to assess internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Offer day‑to‑day technical guidance, challenge, and quality oversight during planning, fieldwork, issue validation, reporting and closure of assurance reviews.
• Identify, assess and promptly escalate significant control weaknesses, recurring themes and emerging compliance risks.
• Proactively escalate critical issues that may expose the bank to regulatory, conduct, financial crime or reputational risk.
• Support the Head of Compliance Assurance in strengthening methodology, governance, reporting and strategic priorities.
