Construction Manager – Airport Projects

About the role

The Construction Manager will report directly to the Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager, overseeing daily activities of the supervision team on airport construction projects. The role requires close coordination with local staff, clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth execution of all site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review site mobilization packages, including temporary facilities, security, safety, testing services, and camp development.
• Supervise pre‑construction activities and deliverables of the supervision team and contractors.
• Assist in preparing the project execution plan and develop a constructability programme.
• Plan, mobilise and assign tasks to the construction supervision teams for each contract area.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering and contractor teams, evaluating technical proposals and solving on‑site technical issues.
• Implement dispute avoidance and resolution methods.
• Lead the expert team in setting up testing and commissioning procedures.
• Conduct pre‑construction conferences, manage correspondence, and ensure health & safety compliance.
• Review materials, shop drawings, method statements, and mock‑ups, ensuring timely execution.
• Monitor progress, schedule, and coordination of contractors, and prepare recommendations for anticipated claims.

Required profile

• Experience in preparing project‑specific construction management procedures.
• Ability to review contract requirements, notices, and changes in scope or schedule.
• Knowledge of quality control processes and laboratory management.
• Strong understanding of contractual issues, force majeure events, and changed site conditions.
