Construction Manager - Civil

About the role

The Construction Manager – Civil will lead all civil works for an electrical substation project in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure that foundations, structures, roads, drainage and related infrastructure are built safely, to design specifications, on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Review civil drawings, specifications and scope for substation projects.
• Develop and monitor detailed construction schedules for earthworks, foundations, equipment structures and buildings.
• Coordinate civil activities with electrical and mechanical installation teams, planning sequencing of works.
• Manage site clearing, excavation, grading, soil compaction, ground improvement and geotechnical requirements.
• Supervise construction of foundations for transformers, circuit breakers, gantries and other equipment, ensuring load and tolerance compliance.
• Oversee erection of control buildings, relay rooms, GIS buildings, security structures and cable trenches.
• Ensure proper installation of drainage, storm‑water and oil‑containment systems.
• Control construction of internal roads, access routes, fencing, gates and site entrances.
• Coordinate procurement and delivery of concrete, reinforcement steel, structural steel and precast elements.
• Manage manpower, equipment, subcontractors and conduct testing and inspection of concrete works.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing civil construction activities for electrical substation projects.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports.
• Strong coordination skills with electrical and mechanical installation teams.
• Experience in scheduling, material procurement and site supervision.
