Consultant Emergency Medicine

About the role

The leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join its busy Emergency Department. The role involves delivering high‑quality emergency care, managing critically ill and trauma patients, and driving clinical excellence and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilize and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Provide timely treatment for acute and life‑threatening medical and surgical conditions.
• Lead the management of critically ill and trauma patients, including resuscitation.
• Perform and supervise emergency procedures within the scope of practice.
• Coordinate patient care with specialists, inpatient teams, intensive care and other departments.
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.
• Participate in department protocols, quality improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Provide clinical guidance and supervision to junior physicians and medical staff.
• Engage in teaching, training and continuing professional development activities.
• Maintain compliance with DOH regulations, hospital policies and clinical standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Recognised postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility for, or a valid DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licence.
• Relevant post‑specialisation clinical experience appropriate for a Consultant level.
• Strong experience in emergency and acute care medicine.
• Current Good Standing Certificate and verifiable professional credentials.
• Excellent clinical, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑volume, multidisciplinary Emergency Department.
