Consultant – Pediatric Vascular Surgery

About the role

Black Pearl is recruiting on behalf of a leading healthcare provider in Abu Dhabi for a Consultant in Pediatric Vascular Surgery. The role involves delivering specialized vascular assessment and treatment for children with arterial, venous and vascular‑malformation disorders, while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate congenital and acquired pediatric arterial, venous, lymphatic conditions and vascular malformations.
• Perform open and endovascular procedures within approved specialty and pediatric privileges.
• Develop multidisciplinary care plans with pediatric surgery, interventional radiology, hematology, cardiology and intensive care.
• Lead peri‑operative risk assessment, emergency consultations and longitudinal patient surveillance.
• Maintain detailed operative and outcome data; contribute to vascular‑anomaly meetings, audit, governance, teaching and research.
• Provide patient‑ and family‑centered consultant care in line with professional standards and hospital policies.
• Supervise junior medical staff and support multidisciplinary decision‑making.
• Participate in clinical governance, incident review, quality improvement and continuing professional development.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized Vascular Surgery qualification (or General Surgery followed by Vascular Surgery pathway) plus formal pediatric vascular training or extensive verified pediatric practice.
• Specialty and subspecialty awards must be recognized under UAE Professional Qualification Requirements.
• Completion of internship and active, unrestricted professional registration/licensure in the most recent country of practice.
• Tier 1 qualification and Department of Health – Abu Dhabi Consultant‑level experience with recent independent pediatric vascular work.
• Eligibility to obtain a Department of Health – Abu Dhabi Consultant licence for the applicable specialty.
