Cost Controller – Construction & Building Projects

About the role

The client, a leading construction firm in Dubai, seeks a detail‑oriented Cost Controller to oversee project cost monitoring, budgeting, and financial control across multiple building contracts. The role blends cost management with basic quantity surveying to ensure projects stay within approved budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring activities remain within budget.
• Prepare cost reports, budget forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Track expenses for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and operations.
• Review supplier invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payment applications.
• Support procurement by evaluating vendor quotations and recommending cost‑effective purchases.
• Maintain cash‑flow forecasts and monitor financial commitments throughout project lifecycles.
• Assist in assessing project variations, additional work orders, and their cost impacts.
• Identify budget overruns and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years (36 months) of experience in construction cost control.
• Basic knowledge of Quantity Surveying, BOQ, and construction quantity measurement.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work closely with project managers, procurement, and site engineers.
