About the role
The role focuses on maintaining EOT and jib cranes within a steel plant to minimise downtime, improve plant availability and manage spare consumption responsibly.
Key responsibilities
- Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on EOT and jib cranes to minimise material‑handling downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards.
- Support supervisors and coordinate with other departments to maintain uninterrupted production.
Required profile
- ITI qualification in Mechanical Fitter trade.
- 3‑5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a steel plant.
- Knowledge of rigging and slinging.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
Required skills
- Predictive and preventive maintenance of EOT and jib cranes.
- Troubleshooting of crane mechanical systems.
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits.
- Proficiency with hand tools, measuring instruments and portable equipment.
