Data & AI Engineering Expert

About the role

The Data & AI Engineering Expert is a senior, hands‑on technical authority responsible for designing, building, and operationalising enterprise‑wide data and AI platforms at ENEC. The role drives the delivery of secure, scalable data pipelines, AI/ML solutions and analytics services that support safe and innovative nuclear energy generation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain lakehouse architectures using Databricks Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Delta Live Tables.
• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration workflows with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Integrate OT and industrial data sources (PI System, SCADA, DCS) into the enterprise data platform.
• Architect data models, semantic layers and data products for analytics and AI consumption.
• Develop, version, deploy and monitor production‑grade ML/DL/GenAI models using Azure ML, MLflow and Databricks.
• Implement MLOps pipelines covering training, validation, deployment and retraining.
• Ensure data governance, quality and metadata management with Collibra and Unity Catalog.
• Create BI and semantic models in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in data engineering and AI/ML solution delivery.
• Proven ability to work in regulated environments and adhere to nuclear‑industry compliance standards.
• Strong architectural mindset and experience mentoring technical teams.
