Data Center Operations Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical)

About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a UAE national to join its Data Center Operations team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure that powers AWS data centres, ensuring high availability and safety for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain world‑class mechanical and electrical systems such as chillers, exhaust fans, switchgear, transformers and diesel generators.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment failures, including circuit breakers and other critical components.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures, promoting a world‑class safety culture.
• Support facility operations and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to maintain optimal performance.
• Document incidents and follow a process‑oriented approach to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• UAE national with a valid family book.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial or data‑center environment.
• Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced, high‑availability setting.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
