Data Protection & Privacy Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Data Protection & Privacy Specialist to act as a techno‑functional bridge between privacy technology platforms and regulatory and business stakeholders within a leading banking environment in the UAE. The role combines hands‑on implementation of privacy tools with advisory‑level guidance on data‑protection compliance, governance and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, administer and optimise enterprise privacy platforms such as BigID, Securiti AI or OneTrust.
• Perform data discovery, classification and DSAR workflow automation across structured and unstructured data sources.
• Integrate privacy tools with data sources (databases, cloud, SharePoint, Exchange, Teams) and security solutions (SIEM, DAM, DSPM).
• Conduct gap assessments, DPIA/PIA, RoPA documentation and produce compliance dashboards for regulators and senior management.
• Provide advisory support to business and technology teams on privacy‑by‑design and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Engineering or post‑graduate degree with 4–8 years of experience in data privacy or protection, preferably in BFSI or a similarly regulated sector.
• Previous experience in a Big 4 or consulting environment is highly preferred.
• Hands‑on experience configuring at least one of the listed privacy platforms.
• Strong knowledge of CBUAE consumer data protection rules and UAE privacy laws, plus familiarity with GDPR, KSA PDPL, Qatar PDPPL, CCPA/CPRA.
