Depot Manager - Bus Depots

About the role

The Depot Manager will lead end‑to‑end operations of bus depots, ensuring vehicles, drivers and infrastructure are ready to deliver reliable public transport services. This senior position combines strategic planning, operational oversight and continuous improvement of depot performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare progress reports on strategic projects, support network planning, fleet expansion and route rationalisation.
• Manage depot infrastructure upgrades, including readiness for electric buses, alternative fuels and new technologies.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to implement AI, advanced control systems, Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Oversee daily depot activities: bus readiness, driver deployment, scheduling, maintenance coordination and incident response.
• Control operational expenses, assist in budget planning and monitor fuel/energy consumption.
• Supervise service dispatch, rentals, special operations and ensure compliance with safety and asset management standards.
• Conduct operational reviews, site checks and produce regular safety, performance and financial reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large transport or logistics depots, preferably in public bus operations.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with ability to drive cross‑departmental initiatives.
• Knowledge of electric‑bus infrastructure, alternative fuels and emerging transport technologies.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma and data‑driven performance improvement.
