Design Engineer I – Aircraft Structures

About the role

The Engineering Technical Services (ETS) department of Emirates seeks a Design Engineer I to support the design, approval, and implementation of aircraft modifications and repairs. You will work within the Emirates Design Organisation framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal handbooks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, check, and approve design and substantiation data for large‑airplane modifications and repairs.
• Classify changes to type certificates, perform compliance inspections, and witness certification tests.
• Provide on‑site support during modification/repair implementation and develop compliance checklists.
• Assist Technical Services Engineers on minor design changes and support the Office of Airworthiness with certification programmes and regulatory audits.
• Collaborate with vendors, MROs, and authorities to deliver engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical or related field.
• Experience with aircraft metallic and composite structures.
• Knowledge of fatigue and damage‑tolerance assessment methods.
• Ability to develop and review weight‑and‑balance analyses, test plans, and compliance documentation.
