Development Support Lead TEKLA

About the role

We are seeking a Development Support Lead – TEKLA to join a leading Oil & Gas organization in Dubai. The role will drive technical standards, BIM integration and custom tool development for Tekla Structures, supporting engineering, fabrication and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce technical standards, development protocols and QA/QC procedures for all Tekla deliverables.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between the technical office, engineering, fabrication and construction teams.
• Participate in strategic planning to enhance BIM and Tekla integration across the company.
• Lead design, development and maintenance of custom Tekla tools, plugins, components and automated workflows using Tekla Open API (C#).
• Guide implementation of parametric components, custom templates, intelligent drawings and automated reporting.
• Oversee integration of Tekla with ERP, MIS, CNC fabrication systems and other digital platforms.
• Organise and deliver internal training sessions and workshops on advanced Tekla and steel‑detailing workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 8 + years of experience in Tekla Structures development and structural steel engineering.
• Proven track record of leading Tekla support and development teams in a structural steel environment.

• C# programming
• Steel fabrication practices and international detailing codes
• BIM workflows, model coordination, clash detection and multi‑discipline integration
• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, Trimble Connect
• SQL database knowledge
• Integration with ERP, MIS and CNC fabrication systems
