Duty Manager – Luxury Hotel Operations

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Duty Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a 5‑star beachfront resort. The role ensures seamless guest experiences, coordinates multiple departments and acts as the senior on‑site contact for any incident outside regular management hours.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence in the lobby, greeting VIPs, dignitaries and repeat guests while anticipating their needs.
• Own service recovery, handling guest complaints swiftly and in line with Sofitel brand standards.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house to ensure cleanliness, maintenance and brand‑standard presentation.
• Coordinate Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Engineering and Security during each shift, overseeing check‑in/check‑out flow and group arrivals.
• Supervise, coach and motivate on‑duty colleagues, delivering shift briefings and managing handovers.
• Serve as the senior contact for emergencies (medical, fire, security) and liaise with local authorities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in luxury hotel operations, preferably in a Duty Manager or senior Front Office supervisory role.
• Previous experience in the UAE or GCC hospitality market is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of property management systems, such as Opera PMS.
• Familiarity with hotel operational reporting and shift handover documentation.
